RJ Decker is the new crime drama series coming soon on Disney + from 14 July 2026. Hero Scott Speedman as a disgraced former photojournalist who reinvents himself as a private investigator in South Florida.

The plot

Based on the 1987 novel “Double Whammy” by Carl Hiasen, the series follows the investigations of Decker, a discredited former photojournalist and convicted felon who tries to rebuild his life as a private investigator. Between bizarre cases and larger-than-life characters, Decker navigates the colorful—and criminal—world of South Florida.

The cast

Scott Speedman (“Animal Kingdom,” “The Strangers”) leads the cast in the title role. The series is created by Robert Doherty, creator of “Person of Interest”, and produced by ABC Signature.

Availability

The first season of RJ Decker debuts on Disney+ on July 14, 2026. The series previously aired on ABC in the United States starting in March 2026.
