“I delitti del BarLume – Il re dei giochi” is the TV movie airing tonight, Thursday, August 6, 2026, in prime time on TV8 (21:40 p.m.). It is the first film that inaugurated the I delitti del BarLume cycle in 2013 , the series inspired by the novels by Marco Malvaldi.

The plot of the movie

The story centers on Massimo Viviani ( Filippo Timi ), a bartender with a true passion for investigation. In his town, Pineta , a terrible accident occurs during the municipal election campaign, killing Marina Corucci and her teenage son. The woman was the communications manager for a well-known local center-left politician.

In the bar, the theory begins to circulate that it wasn't just an accident, but a murder. The prime suspect appears to be a politician, the dead woman's lover. It will be the four sprightly old men at the bar— Pilade, Aldo, Gino, and Emo —who will push Massimo to investigate and uncover the truth behind the two deaths.

Cast and production

Directed by Eugenio Cappuccio , the cast includes Filippo Timi , Lucia Mascino (Vittoria Fusco), Stefano Fresi (Beppe Battaglia), Corrado Guzzanti (Paolo Pasquali), and the quartet of elderly people played by Atos Davini, Alessandro Benvenuti, Massimo Paganelli, and Marcello Marziali.

Filming took place on Elba Island , in the village of Marciana Marina , where the fictional town of Pineta was reconstructed. The production is by Palomar for Sky.

The appointment with “The King of Games” is for tonight, Thursday 6 August, at 9.40pm on TV8.
