Lanterns is the new highly anticipated series from the DC Universe: it will debut on HBO il August 16, 2026 and will consist of eight episodes, airing until October 4th. Here's everything you need to know.

What is it about?

The series is inspired by the characters from DC Comics Green Lantern and follows the story of two lanterns: the veteran Hal Jordan and the new recruit John stewart, grappling with a murder investigation on Earth that will lead them to a bigger mystery. The style is that of a detective story, inspired by T e Slow horses: The plot unfolds across two timelines, a crime that occurred in 2016 in Rushville, Nebraska, and the related events of 2026.

The cast

In the role of Hal Jordan there is Kyle chandler, while Aaron Peter plays John Stewart. The cast completes Kelly Macdonald e Nathan Fillion, who plays Guy Gardner, another member of the Green Lantern Corps, described as the last Lantern to be called in case of emergency.

Production

The series is created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindeloff e Tom king, with Mundy as showrunner, and is produced by dc studios and Warner Bros. Television. It is the third television series of the new DC Universe wanted by James Gunn and Peter Safran, inserted in the chapter Gods and MonstersThe Italian debut date is still to be confirmed.
