Wednesday, May 2: Previews of Season 2 and the upcoming third season

Wednesday 2 , the second season of the series created by Tim Burton for Netflix , was released in two parts: the first on August 6, 2025 , the second on September 3, 2025. Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams for a more adult, intense and gothic season, full of investigations, anxieties and a search for identity.

The plot of the second season

The new season opens with heroine Addams ready to face new mysteries and supernatural secrets in the corridors of the Nevermore . The story blends horror , introspection, and family relationships, with more complex dynamics and unexpected alliances. Wednesday must defend herself from a mysterious stalker and unravel ancient truths tied to her family's past.

In the final episodes, the tension grows: increasingly dark threats within the Academy, a clash with a predatory figure from the past, and a final confrontation between Wednesday, the enigmatic teacher played by Lady Gaga , and a new wave of paranormal creatures in the basement.

Cast and special guests

The cast continues with beloved faces from the first season: Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia), Luis Guzmán (Gomez), Emma Myers (Enid), and Joy Sunday (Bianca). Special guest appearances include Steve Buscemi , Thandiwe Newton , Joanna Lumley , and pop star Lady Gaga as an enigmatic teacher.

The third season

The series has been renewed for a third season , which Netflix had already announced after the cliffhanger of the second. Production is expected to begin in 2026, with a possible release date no earlier than 2027 : the first seasons aired three years apart, and the most likely scenario remains a 2028 debut. Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have confirmed that the writers room is already hard at work.
