Rai 1 pays tribute to Pippo Baudo one year after his death.

One year after the passing of Pippo Baudo , Rai is paying tribute to one of the greatest protagonists of Italian television with a special program spanning television networks, digital platforms, radio, and newspapers. On Sunday, August 16, 2026 , Rai 1 will dedicate its prime time slot to the Sicilian host.

Tonight… Pippo Baudo on Rai 1

On Sunday, August 16, at 9:30 PM , Rai 1 presents "Tonight... Pippo Baudo ," a special evening that, through archive footage and some of the most significant moments of his career, retraces the personal and professional journey of a key figure in Italian entertainment. Following this, at midnight , the TG1 Special "Mister TV Pippo Baudo Story," directed by Leonardo Metalli, will air: a tale of the host's Sicilian origins, the successes that have made television history, and the many artists Baudo helped discover and promote.

The tribute on all networks

The initiative doesn't stop at Rai 1. On Rai 3 , at 20 pm, Blob dedicates a special episode to Baudo, SUPERPIPPO , a summary of his career beyond the Sanremo Festival. Rai Storia offers programming entirely dedicated to the presenter, with "Domenica con Pippo Baudo – Vittorio Gassman a Canzonissima '72," a 1973 episode of "Ieri e oggi" (Yesterday and Today) and "Visioni private – Pippo Baudo," an interview with Cinzia Tani.
