Tonight's "Taste of the Sea" on Rete 4: Cast and Trivia

Up tonight 4 network, at 21pm, is on air Sapore di mare, the 1983 cult comedy directed by Carlo Vanzina and written with his brother Enrico Vanzina.

The plot

The film is set in Forte dei Marmi in the summer of 1964, where the stories of several families on vacation intertwine. Among the protagonists are the Milanese Luca e Felicino, a regular presence on the Tuscan beaches; Genoese Gianni, engaged to Selvaggia but attracted to Adriana, a friend of her parents; and Neapolitan siblings Paolo and Marina, arriving in Forte dei Marmi for the first time. Between summer romances, dance competitions, and dramatic twists, the film recounts an unforgettable summer.

The cast

The cast is one of the most beloved in Italian cinema: Jerry Calà (Luca), Christian De Sica (Felicino), Marina Suma (Marina), Virna lisi (Adriana), isabella ferrari (Wild) and Karina Huff (Susan). The film also features Gianni Ansaldi, Angelo Cannavacciuolo, Giorgio Vignali and, in a cameo, Edward Vianello, who plays himself.

The curiosity

The soundtrack is composed by Edward Vianello, Riccardo Cocciante e Mina, with songs that have become symbols of an era. The film, produced by Claudio Bonivento, launched the trend of seaside comedies and introduced the general public to Marina Suma e Karina Huff.
