Hotel Costiera, where you saw Jesse Williams

Starting tonight, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the series Hotel Costiera , starring Jesse Williams , premieres on free-to-air TV on Canale 5. But where have we seen the American actor before? Jackson Avery from Grey's Anatomy is just the tip of the iceberg in a career that spans television, film, and video games.

Grey's Anatomy and Dr. Jackson Avery

Born in Chicago on August 5, 1981 , Jesse Wesley Williams became famous worldwide thanks to the role of Dr. Jackson Avery in Grey's Anatomy , played for twelve seasons (2009-2021), with a return between 2024 and 2025. Before becoming an actor, Williams was a high school teacher: his path, between Temple University and classrooms, then led him to the set of the ABC series.

From cinema to video games

At the cinema, he appeared in The Cabin in the Woods (2012) and The Butler (2013), as well as in Band Aid . Gamers recognize him as the face and voice of Markus , the android protagonist of Detroit: Become Human (2018), for which he also provided motion capture.

Activism and directing

Williams is also a well-known activist: his speech at the 2016 BET Humanitarian Awards went down in American television history. He has also directed episodes of Grey's Anatomy, combining acting with directing and producing.

Now, with Hotel Costiera , Jesse Williams comes to Italy: the series, already available on Prime Video, will air on Canale 5 in prime time on Tuesday 1 and Thursday 3 September 2026.
