The Promise, Manuel offers Lorenzo 25 percent

New spoilers for The Promise : when the wedding between Angela de Figueroa (Marta Costa) and Lorenzo de la Mata (Guillermo Serrano) seems imminent, the captain surprises everyone by changing his mind several times. At the heart of the plot is Manuel 's offer to Lorenzo.

Curro asks Manuel for help

Curro Exposito 's (Xavi Lock) every attempt to thwart the wedding between his beloved Angela and the hated captain proves futile. So the young man decides to seek help from his half-brother Manuel de Lujan (Arturo Garcia Sancho), who promises to do everything he can to prevent the marriage from happening and informs his father Alonso (Manuel Regueiro) of Curro's feelings for Leocadia 's daughter.

25 percent in exchange for the wedding

Convinced that his rival has always been interested in power, Manuel tells Lorenzo he's willing to give him his 25 percent of La Promessa , provided he leaves Angela alone and no longer interferes in her relationship with Curro. De la Mata, however, refuses the offer: he reminds Manuel that he has no power to sell any shares in the estate, since he will only inherit it upon his father Alonso's death.

Alonso's counterproposal

With only 48 hours to go until the wedding , Alonso surprises his brother-in-law with a counterproposal: he reiterates Manuel's offer and gives him a contract to receive 25 percent of La Promessa in exchange for canceling his wedding to Angela. This time, Lorenzo finds the offer advantageous, given that it is made by the actual owner of the residence, and assures him that he will inform Angela and Leocadia of his decision the next day.

During the announcement, however, Lorenzo becomes annoyed when he sees the smile on Curro's face, having been invited by Manuel to attend. Ignoring the agreement with Alonso, he tears up the signed contract and confirms that the wedding will take place the next day as agreed. Angela and Curro are plunged back into despair: there's nothing left to do.
