The beautiful Aragonese Castle of Baia illuminated in the evening: it will be visible from the Gulf of Pozzuoli, and in the meantime new rooms of the Castle are opening!

The wonderful Aragonese Castle of Baia, which was erected in 1495 by King Alfonso II of Aragon, stands in a strategic area, or on a promontory at 51 meters above the sea level, thus dominating the Gulf of Pozzuoli up to Procida, Ischia and Cuma.

The works that will allow for light up in the evening the beautiful Castle of Baia which will therefore be so visible from the whole Flegrean coast. Work on the lighting system for the evening visit to the Castle. 

The new rooms of the Castle

The Aragonese Castle of Baia houses the Archaeological Museum of the Phlegraean Fields, a precious site that contains unique and extraordinary finds found in the archaeological sites of the Phlegraean area.

In fact, in addition to the works that will affect the external lighting of the Castle and the evening visits, the rooms concerning the Nymphaeum of Punta Epitaffio found in submerged bay, the Sacellum of the Augustales of Miseno, and the plasters found at the thermal baths of Baia. Rooms that have been closed to the public for over 20 years.
