After the difficult years of the pandemic, the famous returns with great enthusiasm Asparagus Festival nel Caserta village of Squille, fraction of the municipality of Castle Camps (EC). The 19th edition of the event will take place on the following dates: 23, 24, 25, 29, 30 April and 1 May 2023.
The Silla Association, which organizes the event masterfully as always, intends to promote Squille and its rurality through the wild asparagus, typical vegetable of the countryside surrounding and also known for its beneficial properties. During these seven days of celebration, the small village of Squille becomes the protagonist, the scene of a long series of food and wine meetings and with it the local asparagus is literally celebrated.
For the occasion, the whole historic center of Squille, immersed in the greenery of the Caiatine Hills, is transformed into a large open-air restaurantwhere everyone can find a place. The Festival proposes typical local dishes based on asparagus and not, accompanied by the excellent Local wine, the Pallagrello. The housewives of Squille, with their culinary skills, contribute to making the event similar to a big family celebration.
One of the strengths of the Festival is the welcome of the people of the place, which is confirmed also this year. During the event will be present the craft market and typical products. The traditional lunch in the square will be held on 1st May, but it will also be possible to repeat it on the other festive dates: 23rd, 25th and 30th April.
Every day they will be scheduled animations of various kinds, Latin American music and dancing in the square to accompany visitors between one asparagus dish and another, making the atmosphere joyful and engaging.
