In Naples the Catacombs of San Gennaro finally reopen and for the occasion admission will be free!

After the health emergency that caused the suspension as well as the closure of all activities, finally on the weekend from 26 June 2020 the visits to the Catacombs of San Gennaro between Capodimonte and Rione Sanità in Naples.

The visits will start again in accordance with the rules to be respected to stem the spread of the Coronavirus, therefore limited access, social distance of at least 1 meter and use of the mask.

However, there is a special novelty, in fact on the occasion of this reopening after the lockdown, on the opening weekend visitors will be able to enter the Catacombs of San Gennaro for free.

The Catacombs of San Gennaro

Le Catacombs of San Gennaro they are ancient cemetery areas dating back to the XNUMXnd century AD which are located below the neighborhood Rione Sanità of Naples. The entrance to the Catacombs is located near the Incoronata church in Capodimonte. 

It is one of the most important monuments of the Christianity in Naples which extends over an area of ​​5600 square meters dug into the tuff and welcomes 3000 burials. An opportunity not to be missed if you have never visited the Catacombs of San Gennaro, to get to know a truly evocative place rich in history.

  • For the other days: full 9 euro, under 18 5 euro, students / over 65 / law enforcement 6 euro, under 6 and disabled free
