At Palazzo Ricca "The city of others" is staged, the historical show that evokes the atmosphere and the events of the former psychiatric institute of Naples Leonardo Bianchi.
Saturday and Sunday 13 14 2018 October will be held in the courtyard of Palazzo Ricca, seat of the Banco di Napoli Historical Archive Museum, "The city of the others ", show organized by the cultural association NarteA written by Febo Quercia. The delicate theme of the text is mental alienation, told through some real events of the inmates of the Leonardo Bianchi hospital, obtained from some medical records whose documentation is present in the Historical Archive of the Banco di Napoli.
The show evokes the suffering existence of a different "Città altra", as indicated by the title chosen. This is the atmosphere of the Leonardo Bianchi, the psychiatric hospital of Naples, where they were interned and locked up within the walls of a "other city" that welcomed the mentally ill or simply all those who expressed borderline behavior, often hiding stories of voluntary isolation or illnesses of the society itself. The same Phoebus Quercia states that very often they were simply people "Far from the false morality of the society in which they lived".
This "City" imposed on these fragile people, a violent adaptation disguised as therapy, "An act of violence for reasons that should not be known and that became crazy induced by imprisonment itself and by the practices of inhumanity to which they were subjected".
"The city of the others" is a show directed by Febo Quercia together with Fabiana Fazio, starring Luigi Credendino, Valeria Frallicciardi, Irene Grasso, Daniela Ioia, Antonio Perna, Peppe Romano, with scenes by Marco Perrella and costumes by Antonietta Rendina.
