The Neapolitan Cultural Association NarteA organize a special event titled Itinerary for game, Saturday 28 January 2023 at 10:00. It is a special theatrical visit that will lead guests, young and old, into the fantastic world of antique toy.
The special guided tour will take place at the monastic complex of Santi Severino and Sossio, headquarters of the State Archives of Naples, in that place where it was set up The Toy Fair. Antique Toy Exhibition. The journey will continue in the premises of Palazzo Marigliano, guests here will meet a skilled craftsman, played by Mario Di Fonzo, who will lead them to The Doll Hospital.

The history of the shop
Towards the end of the 1800s, in via San Biagio dei Librai in Naples, Luigi Grassi, set designer of court theaters and puppet theaters, repaired a doll brought by a mother in the neighborhood. The news reached all the mothers who began to go to the shop to repair toys.
In Luigi Grassi's laboratory there were legs, arms and eyes everywhere, and a passer-by admiring the show exclaimed “It really seems to me 'o spitale de' bambule”. Since then four generations have been handed down in the shop and many dolls and teddy bears have been repaired.
