The MuDe, the Digital Museum with thousands of information for everyone, is born at the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum

The wonderful Ercolano Archaeological Park is preparing to welcome a great novelty, that is the Digital Museum (MuDE). It will be a real digital revolution, for the realization of which a project has been drawn up by the Packard Humanities Institute, a foundation dedicated to the conservation of archaeological assets.

Currently, work has begun on the archaeological park Digital Museum, thanks to a European funding for digitization from the Ministry of Culture.

It will be a good step forward for the site, which for some time has been trying to get closer to technology and the future with various initiatives such as Herculaneum 3D Scan.

What will the MuDE propose in Herculaneum

With the creation of the Digital Museum at the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum you can take part in a truly unique experience, where the past mixes with the present and the future. It will be one database open to everyone, from which to draw various information: structured data, floor plans, 3D models, virtual reconstructions, high resolution photographs and much more, the museum will also be linked to an application.

The special platform will offer visitors the possibility to build your own personal itinerary virtual or real thematic inside the park, to have information about a topic, a specific artifact or archaeological context.

In fact, there will be more on the net 6500 finds, of these 3500 will be scanned with 3D scans in very high resolution, as well as lots of other information on the site.
