The Cultural Association NarteA organize a special event for Saturday 25 March 2023 at 19:00, that is Pilgrims, a new dramatized visit at the Museum complex of the Archconfraternity of Pilgrims.
It will be a wonderful experience that will take guests on a fascinating journey back in time, in particular, they will arrive at July 25 1578. This date dates back to the day when the tailor Bernardo Giovino founded the Archconfraternity in Naples, a structure created to welcome all Pilgrims traveling to sacred places.
The appointment will be at the Piazzetta Fabrizio Pignatelli, here will be the guide Matteo Borriello who will lead you on this guided tour. The lyrics are written by Febo Quercia and interpreted by Raffaela Ausiello, Valeria Frallicciardi and Peppe Romano.
The history of the Archconfraternity
The dramatized guide organized by the NarteA Cultural Association will retrace the history of the Archconfraternity, which sees in one of its founders one of the members of one of the most famous aristocratic families in Naples.
Towards the end of the sixteenth century, Fabrizio Pignatelli, decided to build a church dedicated to Santa Maria Materdomini and a hospital in the Pignasecca area. After his death in 1577, only the church was built. The Archconfraternity received land and income as a gift.
The visit traces the story of a man, a pilgrim, who travels on a journey to keep a vow. This trip will be the occasion for an inner reflection that will alternate with traditional stories. Don't miss your appointment.
