The works of Rossini and Dvořák

The work William Tell by Gioacchino Rossini, composed in French in 1829 in Paris, was the last of the composer, a homage to the country where he was welcomed as the greatest living opera composer. It's composed by 4 acts with dances and impressive choral situations, which in the Overture, which we will listen to on June 1st, are best summarized.
A chamber-style introduction will leave room for a storm, typical of Rossini's operas, and then return to calm and pastoral idyll.

La Symphony by Antonin Dvořák, on the other hand, was composed a New York between 1892 and 1893 during his American tour, commissioned by the Philarmonic Orchestra. At that time he was conductor and had learned the "American melodies”Of the natives and settlers. He had, then, developed them according to romantic orchestral compositional techniques creating a masterpiece still much loved today.
