The Italian Touring Club opens the Court Theater in the Royal Palace of Caserta to the public as part of the “Aperti per Voi” initiative.
From the 2 September 2017, thanks to the initiative "Open for you"Which boasts the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, every Saturday and Sunday you can visit the Court Theater inside the Palace of Caserta, while from the 6 October the visits will also be extended to Friday.
The Court Theater is one of the first examples in the world of "horseshoe" theater and built on the exact model of Teatro San Carlo in Naples that, we remember, is the oldest opera house in the world.
The Italian Touring Club in 2005 has started this initiative that allows, thanks to the commitment of more 200 volunteers in Campania alone, the visit of places of national heritage otherwise unreachable or with openings with severe time limitations.
Dates and times of the visit
The Court Theater will be open, therefore, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Only the first Sunday of the month will be excluded, when there is the #Domenicalmuseo initiative for which you can enter for free in all state museums.
Touring Club volunteers will make visits to the Court Theater from 10.00 am to 13.00 pm.
The Royal Palace of Caserta and the Touring Club
The Royal Palace of Caserta, one of the most important sites in the world and by 1997 UNESCO heritage, was designed by Luigi Vanvitelli on the model of the Palace of Versailles and the castle of Schönbrunn and is composed from beyond a thousand rooms for a total of over 60 thousand square meters.
