Tribute to Eduardo De Filippo at the San Ferdinando Theater with "The voices from within" by the Servillo brothers
To commemorate the 30 years since the death of the famous and beloved actor, director and playwright Eduardo De Filippo, died the 31 October of the 1984, al San Ferdinando Theater the show will be held The voices inside.
The direction of one of the most ambiguous and elusive comedies is by Toni Servillo who will play one of the protagonists of the drama together with his brother Peppe Servillo. An opportunity to attend a scenic representation taken from a famous dramaturgical text, signed by two great artists of the contemporary theater scene.
Toni Servillo returns to take care of Eduardo ten years after the staging of Saturday, Sunday and Monday why "Eduardo De Filippo is the most extraordinary and perhaps the last representative of a contemporary popular dramaturgy, after him the prevalence of the formal aspect has increasingly distanced the theater from an authentically popular dimension ".
The voices inside it is a dark and at times surreal comedy, characterized by an atmosphere suspended continuously between reality and illusion, and by the bad conscience of the characters. The story revolves around Alberto Saporito's dream of the murder of his friend Aniello Amitrano, committed by the family of his neighbors. A dream that becomes more and more conviction, to the point of convincing Alberto that he really was a witness and accomplice to a murder, leading to a tragic process of 'atomization of the guilty conscience' and to the real denunciation of Aniello's neighbors.
Eduardo wrote the comedy in 1948, in the aftermath of the Second World War, which had caused distrust and indifference throughout Italian society, making the protagonists accomplices and victims of this moral post-war period.
