Exposed, up to 16 July 2015, well 90 works of the famous Neapolitan sculptor belonging to the private collection of Achille Minozzi
Ben 90 works of Vincenzo Gemito, the famous Neapolitan sculptor who lived between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, are exhibited at the museum of Capodimonte in the exhibition "Vincenzo Gemito from the living room Minozzi at the Museo di Capodimonte" up to 16 July 2015.
An opportunity to admire bronze and terracotta sculptures, drawings and drafts of one of the greatest Neapolitan artists, sculptor but also excellent designer and goldsmith, known for having skillfully replaced with his creations sentimentality, dear to his time, with a pure and genuine realism. There are numerous masterpieces of the sculptor, among the most famous, we remember the famous marble statue of CarloV placed outside the Palazzo Reale.
The 90 works on display are part of the highly prized private collection consisting of 372 pieces, purchased last year from Mibac, of Achille Minozzi, Neapolitan entrepreneur, friend and great admirer of Gemito's works. The entire collection will become a permanent exhibition, again at the Capodimonte museum, only at the end of the restoration work on the Royal Apartment.
"Vincenzo Gemito from the living room Minozzi at the Museo di Capodimonte" presents to the public considerable works of the Neapolitan artist including the bronze sculptures depicting the painter Domenico Morelli and the musician Giuseppe Verdi, those made of terracotta by the painter Achille Petrocelli need Maria the gypsy and also the famous one copy of the Psyche of the Archaeological Museum.
