FAB 2024, the Festival of Cinema and Archaeological Culture in Bacoli, is back

From 9 to 12 October 2024, Bacoli will become the setting for the second edition of FAB!, the festival of movies and archaeological culture. Located in the picturesque Fusaro Bourbon Park, this event brings together lovers of history, archaeology and cinema through a series of screenings, debates and educational activities, celebrating cultural richness in a unique context.

FAB! is curated by Nicolas Barile and organized by Giovanni Parisi e John Calvin for TILE Storytellers, with the support of the Campania region and Film Commission Foundation Campania Region. The event, completely free, offers a platform where cinema meets history in one of the most emblematic spaces of Bacoli, making it accessible to a large and varied audience.

What to expect at the festival

The festival is not just a celebration of the movies, but also an exploration of the archaeological culture through documentaries and debates. The days are structured to involve different audiences: the mornings are dedicated to the younger ones with educational films and interactive workshops, while the afternoons see the involvement of universities and in-depth debates on topics such as movies, new technologies andarcheology. In addition, an “Ancient Rome” themed archaeo-buffet will enrich the experience, offering a first-hand taste of historical gastronomy.

Screening schedule and special guests

FAB! 2024 will present 16 films in competition from different parts of the world, such as Iran, Spain and Turkey, submitted to the evaluation of a jury of experts and the public. Among the most anticipated films are “Orpheus and Eurydice” by Francesco Romanelli and “Alexander The Great Pharaoh” by Curtis Ryan Woodside. The festival will culminate with the awarding of the best documentaries, confirming its role as an international showcase for films that explore historical and cultural themes.
