Giro d'Italia in Naples, bus and tram: changes in routes and suspensions

As we now know, the 14 May 2022 Napoli will be the protagonist of a stage of the Giro d'Italia with beautiful path and, for the occasion, there is also a detailed one traffic plan.

Also ANM has published an official notice communicating that on Saturday 14 May there will be one change in the service of some buses and trams in the city to allow the race to take place.

Some buses suspend their rides directly, while others will vary the terminus or part of the journey. Let's see all the details together.

Variations of buses and trams

From 10.00 to 13.00 there will be the following changes to the circulation of buses:

  • Tram 1 and Bus C21 suspend the service;
  • Bus C16: the terminus in ascent Piedigrotta draws back;
  • Bus C31: the terminus moves back to Manzoni / Torre Ranieri where it limits the route;
  • R7 bus: the terminus moves back to piazzale Tecchio;
  • Bus 128: withdraws the terminus at P.za Vittoria;
  • Bus 140: the terminus in Mergellina draws back. Leaving along via Mergellina, via Caracciolo, at intervals at the intersection with via Petrarca, via Mergellina, via Posillipo and the ordinary route towards Posillipo. It runs via Posillipo and make a U-turn in piazza S. Di Giacomo;
  • Bus R6, 180, 181 and 502: leaving from the terminus of P.zale Tecchio, along viale G. Cesare, via degli Scipioni, vale Augusto, via Marino and the ordinary route. On the way back, from via Marino / viale Augusto intersection, continue along the avenue in front of the Polytechnic (reversed direction of travel) and terminus;
  • Bus 151: regular route up to Riviera di Chiaia, then continues along via Piedigrotta, gallery 4 Giornate, via C. Duilio, viale Augusto, interview in front of the Polytechnic, viale G. Cesare and the ordinary route;
  • Bus 154: from P.za Vittoria, it passes through via Arcoleo and Galleria Vittoria without passing through via Chiatamone and S. Lucia;
  • bus 618: on the way back, from via Marino / viale Augusto intersection, continue along the avenue in front of the Polytechnic
    {reversed direction of travel) and parking.
