The church
The church of Santa Maria dell'Incoronata dates back to the fourteenth century and was probably built by the will of Giovanna I of Naples in order to commemorate his coronation and that of his second husband, Luigi of Taranto.
The interior
The striking and elegant church is located about 3 meters below street level. Inside it houses splendid frescoes by Roberto d'Oderisio and a wooden crucifix by Naccherino.
