The excavations

Boscoreale, originally a Pompeian suburb dedicated to activities of sheep-farming and production of wine and oil, it was the seat of rustic Roman villas.

Among them today the rustic Villa can be visited Villa Regina, whose open courtyard, bordered by a large portico, houses a wine cell with well 18 dolii.
It is flanked byantiquarium containing many of the finds from the other villas, now buried.

Information on the archaeological excavations of Boscoreale

Opening time:

  • From November 1 to 31 March from 08: 30 to 17: 00
  • From 1 April to 31 October from 08: 30 to 19: 30
  • Ticket closure one and a half hours before closing

Price tickets:

  • The 2 sites: Oplonti,, Boscoreale (validity 1 day): Whole, € 7,00, Reduced € 4,00
  • The 3 sites: Pompeii, Oplonti, Boscoreale (validity 3 consecutive days and only for 1 entrance / visit by site): Whole, € 18,00, Reduced € 10,00
  • Pompeii single (valid for 1 day): Full, € 15,00, Reduced € 9,00.
  • The visit to the Ville di Stabia is free
  • the first Sunday of each month free entry

How to get:

  • Address: Via Settetermini, Viale Villa Regina, Boscoreale 80041 (NA)
  • Autostrada A3: exit Pompei ovest or Torre Annunziata, continue along Via Madonna del Principio and continue in the direction of Viale Villa Regina in Boscoreale | Circumvesuviana: Torre Annunziata station, continue on foot on Via Sepolcri, turn left onto Via Madonna del Principio and continue until Viale Villa Regina (about 20 minutes)
