Tram lines 2 and 4 are back in service and connect the center of Naples with the eastern area towards San Giovanni a Teduccio!

Two new tram lines are finally back in operation in Naples, 2 and 4, from Monday 4 January 2021. The ANM company officially announced this, also announcing the connections and frequencies of the two means of transport.

The two tram lines are served by the Sirio, they are conditioned and are equipped with people counter. Their capacity is therefore 155 fully loaded people to 50% can transported 77 Guests, according to the containment regulations for Covid-19. Tram 2 and 4 are the result of the renovation of the old vehicles, completely recovered and equipped with a new braking system.

Tram 2 and 4: routes and frequencies

The trams connect the eastern area of ​​Naples, from San Giovanni to Teduccio, with the center and, combined with line 1, which has already been active for a year, complete the network of tram lines in the city. In total, between the three lines, there are 35 trams, but 12 are used for the reduced service for the health emergency.

Tram line 1

It serves the Piazza Municipio-Poggioreale route every 12 minutes.

Tram line 2

It serves the San Giovanni a Teduccio - Piazza Nazionale route, limited to the morning and evening slots with a frequency of 25 minutes.

Tram line 4

It travels on the San Giovanni a Teduccio - Piazza Municipio route every 20 minutes.
