Naples Transport at Christmas and New Year. Metro, bus, tram and trolleybus timetables

During the festivity Christmas and New Year's Eve, the public transport di Napoli reduced timetables and limited services will follow. Buses, trams, trolleybuses and funiculars will be subject to changes to ensure a minimum service. Here are all the details to best organize your travels.

Bus

I ANM bus will operate until 20:00 pm on Christmas Eve (December 24) and New Year's Eve (December 31). During these days, night and accompanying services will be suspended. On Christmas, December 25, and New Year's Eve, January 1, buses will stop operating at 13:30 pm and will resume at 16:00 pm only on some lines:

  • Aosta Light Cavalry Lines: 128, 180, 181, C37, 140, 143, 165, 112, 633, C16, C31, R6, R7, 139, 147.
  • Charles III Lines: 144, 162, 201, 202, 204, 254, C63, 3M.
  • Lines Via delle Puglie: 116, 130, 151, 154, 158, 168, 169, 173, 175, 178, 182, 184, 191, 195, 196, R2, R5, C67.
  • San Giovanni Lines: 412, 421, 422.

The lines Alibus, 412 and 421 will run non-stop during the holidays.

Tram

Il servizio tram will follow the same bus schedule, with early closure at 20:00 on December 24 and 31. Also on Christmas and New Year's Day the service will be suspended from 13:30 to 16:00, to then resume on the main lines.

trolleybus

I trolleybus will follow the same timetable as buses and trams, with early interruptions on holidays and afternoon restarts on some specific routes. Please note that night and school services will be suspended from December 23 to January 6.

Metro Line 1 and Line 6

The hours of the subways for the holiday period have yet to be communicated. The unions and the ANM have negotiated the possibility of increasing services on Line 6 and reopening some stations on Line 1, including the one at Centro Direzionale.

  • 24 December 2024:
    • last ride from Piscinola at 19:06,
    • last ride from Garibaldi at 19:28.
  • December 25, 2024 and January 1, 2025
    • last ride from Piscinola at 12:30,
    • last ride from Garibaldi at 13:00.
    • Reopening at 16:30 pm
      • with first ride from Piscinola at 16pm,
      • with first ride from Garibaldi at 17pm,
      • last ride from Piscinola at 22:30,
      • last ride from Garibaldi at 23:02.
  • 31 December 2024:
    • non-stop service from 20:00 pm.

Subway 6 Line

  • December 24 and 31, 2024:
    • last ride from Town Hall at 14pm,
    • last ride from Mostra at 14pm
  • December 25, 2024 and January 1, 2025
    • last ride from Mostra at 13pm,
    • last ride from Municipio at 13:12

Funicular

The situation of funiculars it is defined.

  • 24 December 2024
    last run 19 hours: 40
  • December 25, 2024 and January 1, 2025
    • last morning ride at 12pm.
    • MERGELLINA FUNICULAR: reopening 16:30 pm – 22:30 pm
    • MONTESANTO and CENTRAL FUNICULAR: reopening 16:30 – 00:30.
  • 31 December 2024
    • MONTESANTO and MERGELLINA funiculars:
      last ride 19pm, CENTRAL: non-stop service.

The Central Funicular on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st December, instead, will prolong the service timetable with last ride at 02:00 at night.
