Review of “Maccarò”, trattoria and pizzeria in Forcella!
We will present you a place we had already talked about for you inaugurazione: Maccaro, trattoria and pizzeria in Forcella. This place was conceived by the Ariete association and co-financed by the Enel Cuore Foundation and the Foundation with the South and aims to work reintegration e social of 18 women from the Forcella district.
The local
The trattoria is easily reachable both on foot from the historic center or by buses that run along Corso Umberto. It is not a narrow or cramped room and inside you can chat without being disturbed by too loud music or various cackles.
The staff is very kind and willing to listen to any problems and solve them in a short time. Remembering that these people are working to escape unpleasant and difficult situations, we greatly appreciate that at least one member of staff he could speak English, something that cannot be said of many of the most "in" Neapolitan clubs.
The menu
Maccarò presents a fairly good menu articulated. You can find many appetizers, from the classic Italian fry to more complex dishes. In addition, there are the first of the kitchen typical Neapolitan, both meat and fish, and the latter. There is no shortage of pizzas, both baked and fried, and there is also the possibility to order saltimbocca. The choice is therefore wide and well balanced between land, sea and possibly vegetarian dishes. When we went, in fact, many different types of vegetables were presented in the restaurant (broccoli, courgettes, peppers, aubergines) which could either be placed on pizza or be ordered as an appetizer or second course. Certainly, sweets and bitters could not be missing. The assortment of wines is good, the beers are very traditional, available only on tap.
Unfortunately we are not sure that the place is for celiacs, even if the kitchen of the pizzeria is separate from that of the restaurant.
The order
We started ordering with a starter mixed fried (4 euro). It was abundant and was enough for two people and included aubergines and fried zucchini, white arancini, crocchè and pastries grown. The fry was very light and the pieces were not oily.
We continued taking one Pasta And Beans With Mussels (5,50 euro) and one Team Building Maccarò (14 euro). The pizza, however, is marked on the menu for two people. If you want my opinion, in three we eat!
The pasta and beans really was excellent it's a lot fedele to the Neapolitan recipe. The pizza was very stuffed and had at least four different flavors, a great alternative for the eternal undecided!
Summarizing and adding the cover charge of 1 euro each and water (1 euro), the total cost of the evening was 15 euro each!
Offers
From Monday to Friday for lunch, lunch for Primo + secondo + contour + drink is from 8 euro, for the earth menu, e 10 € for that of the sea.
Over the weekend the same offer is increased by 3 €.
