Tre Golfi Sailing Week in Sorrento: inshore and coastal regattas

A Sorrento, Golfo di Napoli will become the theater of Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2024. From 8 to 24 May, sailors from all over the world will gather to compete in one of the most followed nautical events.

The week will be marked by inshore and coastal regattas, attractions for sailing enthusiasts and opportunities for spectators to admire spectacular boats.

The Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2024

From 9 to 24 May 2024, the Three Gulfs Sailing Week will involve Sorrento in a sailing event of international importance.

The event begins with ORC Mediterranean Championship, from 9 to 11 May, followed by the historic one 69th Tre Golfi Regatta on May 17th. Finally, the IMA Maxi European Championship will be held from 17 to 23 May.

The events will attract crews from 17 different nations, who will compete in the crystal clear waters of Sorrento. The Marina Piccola of Sorrento will host the boats, which will vary from large yachts to fast and agile ORCs.

Each day of regatta will see the participants compete in races which promise intense competition and maritime strategy.

The Regatta route

The route of the regattas of this edition of the Three Gulfs Sailing Week includes some of the most beautiful and technical challenges in the Mediterranean. There 69th Tre Golfi Regatta it starts from Naples, precisely from the iconic Castel dell'Ovo, on May 17th.

Le boats they will have to navigate a route of about 150 miles, which includes a tour of the island of Ponza and the islets of Li Galli, returning to Naples.

An itinerary not only tests navigators' skills with its complexity but also offers breathtaking views of the Italian coasts and picturesque islands. The course is designed to take advantage of variable weather conditions, which can change quickly and significantly influence racing strategy.
