Two Ferdinands at the Court of the Bourbons, guided tour theatrically at Villa Bruno

The theatrical guided tour Due Ferdinandi to the Bourbon court at Villa Bruno, San Giorgio a Cremano

For the Baroque Park project, the theatrical guided tour "Due Ferdinandi to the Court of the Bourbons" will be staged in the 18th century Villa Bruno in San Giorgio a Cremano.

Sunday June 17 2018 will be held at Villa Bruno in San Giorgio a Cremano (Naples), the theatrical guided tour Two Ferdinands at the court of the Bourbons. The event is part of the project Baroque Park - A theme park on the Neapolitan civilization of the 700th century which involves the cultural association NarteA, the Archeosannio Cooperative and the Open Mind Association.

The show is an interesting opportunity for relive one day at the court of the Bourbons and where the public will be accompanied among the beautiful rooms of the villa, to discover the events and legends related to the life of the most discussed sovereign of the history of the kingdom: Ferdinand IV of Bourbon.

Exceptional location of the theatrical guided tour is Villa Bruno, historical residence before the Monteleone family and then the Lieto family, also hosting Cardinal Luigi Ruffo Scilla, archbishop of Naples. Later the villa became the headquarters of the Righetti foundry, where the two horses were cast in bronze for the equestrian statues that today are located in Piazza del Plebiscito, depicting Charles of Bourbon (future King Charles III of Spain) and Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies (formerly Ferdinand IV of Bourbon).

The funny story of the "two Ferdinandi"

The show staged by NarteA hypothesizes a fun and paradoxical situation. What would happen if among the halls of Villa Bruno were found two sovereigns, two "Ferdinandi" IV of Bourbon facing each other? How could the people, dignitaries, family members and people recognize the true king?

The story will be an opportunity for telling the audience about the very long reign of Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, known as the big king or as 'o King piccirillo, for having ascended the throne at the age of only eight. The figure of him will be narrated through his vices, his "escapades", his love for hunting and for his people, with whom he sometimes loved to mix, disguising himself so as not to be recognized.
