A staircase for Lucio Dalla in Naples, a tribute to the great artist on the Lungomare

Lucio Dalla

Il City of Naples wanted to pay homage to the great artist Lucio Dalla, who passed away in March 2012, with a very special gesture. She indeed was dedicated a staircase to the great artist, Stairs Lucio Dalla, right up to Via Santa Lucia, the road that leads to the sea near the Savoy rowing club, where the singer-songwriter moored his boat.

Lucio Dalla's passion for the city of Naples

Lucio Dalla has always loved our city, Naples, one really deep passion which led him to write one of the most beautiful songs in Neapolitan dialect, that is Caruso. He has lived here and toured its places, since Teatro San Carlo, at the Circolo Savoia, of which he was a member for over 20 years. He felt and loved Naples more than his hometown, Bologna, so much so that he dreamed "of being Neapolitan". As he himself stated:

If there was an intramuscular puncture to learn Neapolitan that cost 200 thousand euros, I would do it

And then again:

Naples, it's easy to say, looks like a city, it's not, it's a nation, it's a republic

From these words we understand well all the love that Lucio Dalla felt for Naples, and so, the city councilor Alessandra Clemente has the proposal to dedicate a symbol to the Bolognese singer-songwriter, who in some way would forever express this deep bond.

And so, the steps that from Via Partenope, at the height of Via Santa Lucia, lead to the sea are named after him, to Lucio Dalla. A proposal therefore that was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the Giunta.
