See Naples and then eat 2025, typical dishes, show cooking, music and guided itineraries

From 11 April at 4 May 2025, Naples welcomes the third edition of “See Naples and then eat”, an experiential journey into the heart of the city, between typical dishes, show cooking, music and guided itineraries. The project, promoted by theDepartment of Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Naples, aims to enhance the Neapolitan culture starting from food, the true identity heritage of the territory. Artistic and scientific direction by the anthropologist Marino Niola, extraordinary participation of Lina Sastri and many free events throughout the city.

A sweet tribute to 2.500 years of Naples

The first symbolic event will be held Friday 11th April at 11.00am at the Monastery of Santa Chiara, where the will be presented“Mermaid's Navel” a fried donut inspired by the ritual pastry of ancient Greece. The dessert, made by the chef Marco Caputi, is accompanied by a musical performance by Marina Bruno has always been exclusive guided tour of the Monumental Complex. Enhanced visitor services

In view of the increase in tourist presence, the Municipality has strengthened information and logistics services:

  • Mobile information points active from 10.00 to 19.00 at Molo Beverello, via Morghen, Piazza del Gesù and Piazza del Plebiscito
  • Traveling electric vehicle for information support
  • Improved sanitation with 8 fixed points and 5 mobile units

A review that grows with the city

According to the Tourism Councillor, the event has registered an exponential growth: attendance is quadrupled compared to the last edition. The inclusion of cultural itineraries and the symbolic naming of three streets of the historic center to famous Neapolitan gastronomes (Cavalcanti, Corrado and Latini) make the event even richer.

The initiative is confirmed not only as showcase of the food and wine heritage, but also as a driving force for cultural tourism. The Mayor of Naples he underlined how “See Naples and then eat” represents a perfect combination between tradition, hospitality and promotion of the territory.
