Road and transport in Naples today, August 5, 2026: closures and updates

🟢 SUBWAYS

Le continue closures on Line 1 of the subway: the stations of Piscinola, Chiaiano and Frullone remain closed until September 13th with replacement bus shuttles, while the second exits of Via dell'Erba, Rione Alto II, Montecalvario and Montedonzelli remain unusable until September 6th. No critical issues reported for the Line 6, which however will close early from 10th to 23rd August around 14pm. The funiculars will be stopped Mergellina (shuttle 621 until August 31st) and Montesanto, already suspended since May for review.

🟢 TRAINS

Wednesday of delays on the Vesuvian lines: train 80710 at 7:10 from Baiano to Volla is approximately 20 minutes late, train 10647 at 6:48 from Naples to Sorrento is 15 minutes late, and train 80609 at 6:10 from Volla to Baiano is approximately 37 minutes late. Circumflegrea trains are running with widespread delays of around 18 minutes, with partial cancellations for trains 5171 and 5172. The service remains interrupted, following the seismic events of 31 July, Cumana on the trafficking Bagnoli–Torregaveta, with replacement buses until further notice. On Trenitalia the interruption of the Line 2 between Pozzuoli and the Phlegraean Fields (gas in the Flegrea tunnel) with bus shuttles; the August construction sites close the stations in phases Montesanto (from 4th to 19th August) and Piazza Amedeo (from August 20th to September 4th).

🟢 BUSES AND TRAMS

Numerous journeys cancelled today on EAV bus lines: on the line 008 Meta–Massalubrense several morning and afternoon runs are skipped, on the 178 Ischia Line 8 and on the circulars 197/198 in Ischia there are cancellations throughout the day, as well as on 924 Caivano–Afragola–Piscinola/P.ta Nolana. Travel not guaranteed on the lines 142 L7 Port–Hospital of Procida and 145 Miseno–Baia–Cuma. Out of service today the EAV elevators di soccavo (10:30–23:11), Fuorigrotta (10:30–23:11), Pianura (4:30–10:30) and Bay (10:30–16:30).

🟢 TRAFFIC

🟢 STRIKES

No local public transport strikes are planned today in Naples and Campania.

🟢 FROM TOMORROW

Tomorrow, August 6th, the EAV elevators will be out of service Fuorigrotta (16:30–23:11), Piave (10:30–16:30), soccavo (10:30–23:11) and Pianura (4.30pm–11.11pm). The Vomero ramp of the ring road will be closed at 6am. Furthermore, from Friday 7th August, the Line 1 will suspend extended evening hours on Fridays and Saturdays until September 4th.
