Saturday, July 11, 2026, is a day without any major disruptions for public transportation in Naples. No strikes are planned in the city, and metro, bus, and funicular service is running as normal. However, the previously reported road and tram construction work continues. Here are all the updates.

🟢 SUBWAYS

Regular service for the Metro Line 1 Today, Saturday, July 11. No early closures are planned: the line will observe the extended weekend holiday timetable, with last services around 1:30 am. Regular services will also be available. Line 6 and funiculars Centrale, Chiaia, Montesanto, and Mergellina, which follow the same extended evening hours on Fridays and Saturdays.

🟢 TRAINS

Scheduled maintenance work continues at the Naples hub which affects the Regional Rome – Formia – Minturno – Naples, Naples – Benevento, Naples – Sapri – Paola, Caserta – Salerno, Torre Annunziata – Naples Central Station, and Nocera Inferiore – Salerno routes. Delays, route restrictions, and cancellations are possible. It is recommended to check schedules before departure.

The inconveniences remain on the Battipaglia – Paola route, with replacement buses running for connections to Southern Italy. The Italo NTV strike ended yesterday: possible residual consequences on high-speed trains to and from Central Naples.

🟢 BUSES AND TRAMS

Work continues on the new tram line between Saint John e piazza SannazaroThe transit ban remains in effect Riviera di Chiaia Street from number 9 to Piazza della Repubblica and on Giambattista Pergolesi Street between Via Riviera di Chiaia and Via Antonio Gramsci. Vehicles from Via Riviera di Chiaia heading to Piazza Vittoria can turn onto Piazza della Repubblica and continue along Viale Anton Dohrn and Via Francesco Caracciolo. Work will continue until August 31st.

Further changes will start on Monday 13th July: excavation works in via Amerigo Vespucci with the relocation of ANM bus stops and suspension of tram traffic on the affected stretch from 7:00 to 17:00 on weekdays.

🟢 TRAFFIC

ABC Napoli works continue for the sewer divider on via Posillipo Between numbers 372 and 386. Alternating one-way traffic is planned in the affected sections, with a permanent parking ban with towing and traffic control during the day, and traffic lights at night. The construction sites will be closed every Friday to limit disruption on weekends. Work will continue until September 9, 2026.

Road redevelopment works will also start on Monday 13 July Old Forno Street (2nd Municipality), with a traffic ban in the section between number 36 and Via Pasquale Scura and alternating one-way traffic up to Piazzetta Fabrizio Pignatelli.

🟢 STRIKES

No local public transport strike is scheduled in Naples for today, Saturday 11 July. It should be noted that for the next few days, there will be a 4-hour strike by EAV Automotive Transport Division staff scheduled for Tuesday 14 July from 9:00 to 13:00, which could affect extra-urban bus lines.
