Road and transport in Naples today, July 12, 2026: closures and updates

Sunday July 12 2026A day without any particular problems for public transportation in Naples. No strikes are planned in the city, with regular service for the metro, buses, and funiculars, including the holiday schedule. Already reported road and tram construction continues, while new work begins tomorrow, Monday, July 13th. Here are all the updates.

🟢 SUBWAYS

Regular service for the Metro Line 1 Today, Sunday, July 12th. The line follows the holiday timetable, with the last services earlier than the weekend. Also adjust the Line 6 and the funiculars Centrale, Chiaia, Montesanto e Mergellina.

🟢 TRAINS

Scheduled maintenance work continues at the Naples hub which affects the regional lines Rome – Formia – Minturno – Naples, Naples - Benevento, Naples – Sapri – Paola, Caserta – Salerno, Torre Annunziata – Naples Central Station e Nocera Inferiore – SalernoPossible delays, route restrictions, and cancellations. It is recommended to check the schedule before departure. Disruptions on the route remain. Battipaglia – Paola, with replacement buses active for connections to Southern Italy.

🟢 BUSES AND TRAMS

Work continues on the new tram line between Saint John e piazza SannazaroThe transit ban remains in effect Riviera di Chiaia Street from number 9 to Piazza della Repubblica and on Giambattista Pergolesi Street between Via Riviera di Chiaia and Via Antonio Gramsci. Vehicles from Via Riviera di Chiaia heading to Piazza Vittoria can turn onto Piazza della Repubblica and continue along Viale Anton Dohrn and Via Francesco Caracciolo. Work will continue until August 31st.

From tomorrow, Monday 13 July, further changes begin: excavation work in via Amerigo Vespucci ANM bus stops will be moved and tram services will be suspended on the affected stretch from 7:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. on weekdays. A replacement bus service will be available.

🟢 TRAFFIC

ABC Napoli works continue for the sewer divider on via Posillipo Between numbers 372 and 386. Alternating one-way traffic is planned in the affected sections, with a permanent parking ban and removal of vehicles. Traffic control personnel will be present during the day and traffic lights will be in place at night. Construction sites will be closed every Friday to limit disruption on weekends. Work will continue until September 9, 2026.

Road redevelopment works will also start on Monday 13th July Old Forno Street (2nd Municipality), with a traffic ban in the section between number 36 and Via Pasquale Scura and alternating one-way traffic up to Piazzetta Fabrizio Pignatelli.

🟢 STRIKES

No local public transport strike is scheduled in Naples for today, Sunday, July 12th. Note that a four-hour strike by staff is planned for the next few days. EAV Automotive Transport Division expected for Tuesday July 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m., which may affect suburban bus lines. Further nationwide strikes are expected during the week of July 13th to 19th.
