Road and transport in Naples today, August 31, 2026: closures and updates

The summer closures on Metro Line 1 continue: the Piscinola , Chiaiano , and Frullone stations remain closed until September 13th, with shuttle buses available for passengers. Also on Line 1, the second exits at Via dell'Erba, Rione Alto II, Montecalvario, and Montedonzelli remain closed until September 6th. Today, August 31st, is the last day of suspension of rail service on Line 7 Soccavo – Monte Sant'Angelo , which has been suspended for construction since early August. Service is expected to resume tomorrow, barring further announcements from EAV.

On Line 2 , the Pozzuoli–Campi Flegrei section continues to be closed , having been in effect since June 21st due to bradyseism and work on the Flegrea Tunnel: replacement buses are now operating. RFI construction work at the station also continues: Piazza Amedeo is closed until September 4th. On the Cumana line , the Bagnoli–Torregaveta section remains closed following the earthquake of July 31st, with increased replacement buses. On the Vesuvian lines , no new cancellations have been reported for today; yesterday, some delays and cancellations were recorded, particularly trains 11808 and 6165 from Naples and train 4083 canceled from Barra to Poggiomarino.

Bus and tram

The Piave ski lifts will be out of service today from 4:30 AM to 7:30 AM and the Soccavo lifts from 16:30 PM to 11:23 PM. Lift NA 149 at the Montesanto station (since August 26) and lift NA 133 at the Portici Bellavista stop (since August 22) will also remain out of service until further notice. The Mergellina funiculars (shuttle 621 is operational) and Montesanto funiculars, which have been closed since May, are confirmed . Replacement buses will be running on the affected Cumana and Line 2 routes.

Ship and hydrofoils

Regular ferry connections to the gulf islands: no cancellations reported today for hydrofoils and ferries to Capri, Ischia, and Procida.

How to move in Naples

No new closure orders or traffic bans have been reported for today in the City of Naples. On the A56 ring road, no nighttime closures are scheduled for tonight: the summer construction plan continues uninterrupted this week.

From tomorrow

Tomorrow, September 1st, the EAV elevators in Pianura will be out of service from 4:30 AM to 10:30 AM, in Soccavo from 10:30 AM to 11:11 PM, and in Quarto Centro from 4:30 PM to 23:16 PM. Service is also expected to resume on Line 7 (Soccavo – Monte Sant'Angelo) after the summer suspension. Closures continue on Line 1 (Piscinola, Chiaiano, Frullone until September 13th), and RFI construction sites on Line 2, with Piazza Amedeo closed until September 23th.
