Road and transport in Naples today, September 1st: closures and updates

Daily updates on the metro, trains, buses, and roads in Naples: Line 7 restarts today , closures remain on Line 1 , and disruptions continue on Line 2 and Cumana.

Line 1 : Work continues, and the Piscinola , Chiaiano , and Frullone stations remain closed . They are scheduled to reopen on September 13th. ANM has activated replacement shuttle buses between Piscinola and Colli Aminei, running approximately every 10 minutes. The second exits on Via dell'Erba, Rione Alto II, Montecalvario, and Montedonzelli will also remain closed until September 6th.

Funiculars : The Mergellina funicular remains closed, with replacement shuttle bus 621; the Montesanto funicular is also closed . Other lines remain regular. Line 6 : no issues reported.

trains

Good news: starting today, September 1st, rail traffic on Line 7 Soccavo – Monte Sant'Angelo will resume as scheduled after the summer suspension for construction work.

Line 2 : The Pozzuoli-Campi Flegrei line continues to be closed due to the presence of CO2 in the Flegrea Tunnel, linked to bradyseism. Replacement buses will be available. RFI construction work at the Piazza Amedeo station continues until September 4th. Trains at the Naples railway hub are operating normally, according to Trenitalia.

Cumana : The Bagnoli–Torregaveta route has been closed following the earthquake of July 31st, with replacement bus service provided until further notice. Circumflegrea : No disruptions reported.

Circumvesuviana : Regular service, no cancellations reported today. Suburban lines (Naples – Piedimonte Matese) : From today until September 7th, RFI will be working on the Santa Maria Capua Vetere station, with service limited to the Piedimonte Matese – Sant'Angelo in Formis section . Trains 7857, 7873, 7875, 7858, 7876, and 7878 will remain canceled until September 13th, replaced by D'Agostino buses for the entire route.

Bus and tram

On several EAV bus lines, journeys have been cancelled or are not guaranteed: among the main ones are the 924 Caivano – Afragola – Piscinola/Porta Nolana (journeys at 04:45, 05:00, 05:45, 06:05, 07:00 and 07:25), the 815 San Sebastiano – Cercola – Ospedale del Mare , the 817 San Giorgio – Ospedale del Mare and the 800 Quarto urban service.

The EAV elevators at the San Giorgio a Cremano station (NA 161 lift, from 5:50 am today) and the Pianura station (NA 145 lift, from 19:45 pm yesterday) are out of service until further notice.

Ship and hydrofoils

No cancellations reported for sea connections to Capri , Ischia and Procida : regular trips for Alilauro, Caremar and Medmar.

How to move in Naples

Night closures on the A56 ring road until September 5th (11:00 PM - 6:00 AM, and from midnight on September 4th): Capodimonte West Tunnel with closure of the Capodichino Airport/Capodimonte section towards Pozzuoli (mandatory Capodichino Airport/Secondigliano exit, Capodichino, Doganella, and Corso Malta entrances closed) and Solfatara East Tunnel with closure of the Arco Felice/Agnano section towards the motorways (mandatory Arco Felice exit, Arco Felice and Via Campana entrances closed). During the night between September 2nd and 3rd, the Corso Malta junction will also be closed for infrastructure inspections.

Strikes

No public transport strikes are scheduled for today. The 24-hour national rail transport strike between Monday, September 7th and Tuesday, September 8th is a must-see.

From tomorrow

Nighttime closures of the ring road (Capodimonte West and Solfatara East, from 23:00 PM to 6:00 AM) continue. Work continues on Line 2 at Piazza Amedeo (until September 4) and on the Naples – Piedimonte Matese line (until September 7). The Piscinola , Chiaiano , and Frullone stations on Line 1 remain closed , with shuttle buses operating.
