Road and transport in Naples today, August 29, 2026: closures and updates

subways

The Piscinola , Chiaiano , and Frullone stations on Line 1 remain closed , with reopening scheduled for September 13th and shuttle buses operating; work also continues at the second exits (Via dell'Erba, Rione Alto II, Montecalvario, Montedonzelli) until September 6th. Line 7 (Soccavo–Monte Sant'Angelo) is suspended until August 31st. The Mergellina (shuttle 621) and Montesanto funiculars are closed.

trains

EAV : Widespread delays on the Circumflegrea (approximately 20 minutes); train 50545 from Quarto to Montesanto departs at 5:45 AM and is running 21 minutes late. Today, August 28th and 29th, traffic changes are in effect on the Naples – Torre del Greco line due to tunnel work, with replacement bus service. The Cumana line between Bagnoli and Torregaveta remains closed (replacement buses). Trenitalia : Line 2 Pozzuoli – Campi Flegrei will remain closed from June 21st (replacement buses), and construction work at Piazza Amedeo station will continue until September 4th.

Bus and tram

Numerous journeys cancelled or not guaranteed this morning on EAV bus lines , including the 924 Caivano-Afragola-Piscinola/P.ta Nolana, 813 urban San Giorgio a Cremano, 803 urban Torre del Greco, 003 Poggiomarino-Torre Annunziata, 302 C.Mare Linea 2, 008 Meta-Massalubrense, 928 Orta-Naples, 922 Afragola-Piscinola, 903 Acerra-Naples, 850 Ercolano-Ospedale del Mare and the Ischia lines 178 and 197; 002 Naples-Nola-Monteforte, 137 and 142 on Procida, 005 Nola-Castellammare are also not guaranteed. The EAV lifts in Boscoreale (21:30 PM - 13:13 PM), Sant'Agnello (13:25 PM - 20:27 PM), and Mostra (10:30 AM - 16:30 PM) are out of service today. The Faito cable car is operating normally.

Ship and hydrofoils

No reports of cancellations or delays on ferry connections to the Gulf Islands.

How to move in Naples

The scheduled closures on the A56 ring road (Capodimonte tunnels, Vomero West and Solfatara East, Ruffo and Maddalena overpasses) ended tonight ; new nighttime closures will begin Monday, August 31st. The City of Naples has not issued any significant ordinances for the day.

From tomorrow

On Sunday, August 30th, the EAV elevators in Fuorigrotta (16:30 PM–11:11 PM), Mostra (10:30 AM–23:30 PM), Piave (10:30 AM–16:23 PM), Soccavo, Pianura, Boscoreale, and Pomigliano will be out of service. From the night between Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, September 1st, new closures will begin on the A56 ring road (Capodimonte West and Solfatara East tunnels, mandatory exits at Capodichino Airport and Arco Felice/Pozzuoli).
