Saturday, July 4th, the first weekend of July with a red flag due to the summer exodus. Here are all the updates on traffic and transportation in Naples: metro construction sites, roadworks, and diversions for those traveling within the city.

🚇 Subways

On Line 1 , track replacement work continues on the northern section. The Frullone , Chiaiano , and Piscinola-Scampia stations will remain closed until September 13th , with replacement shuttles running every 10 minutes. During rush hour, one-way services operate: from Piscinola to Centro Direzionale (6:00-8:00), and in the opposite direction from 9:50 PM to 11:41 PM (Monday-Thursday). On weekends, departures from Colli Aminei run from 12:30 AM to 2:00 AM.

The second exits of the Rione Alto II , Montecalvario , and Montedonzelli stations will remain closed to the public until September 6. Passengers are encouraged to use the main access gates at the respective stations.

🚄 Trains

No critical issues reported on the regional rail network today. Trenitalia and EAV (Circumvesuviana, Circumflegrea, Cumana) services are running regularly.

New from tomorrow, July 5th: EAV regional trains to and from Piedimonte Matese will stop at the Afragola AV/AC station for the first time , improving connections between the Matese area and the high-speed hub.

🚌 Buses and trams

Tram traffic will remain suspended on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 22:00 p.m. due to work to extend the line on Via Stadera . Nighttime road repair work will continue on Via Roma towards Scampia (17:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., until July 17). One-way traffic will remain in effect on Via Nazionale delle Puglie until July 30 due to the tram extension.

🚗 Traffic

First summer exodus: red warning today . Saturday, July 4th, will be a red warning day on the motorway network, with very heavy traffic starting early in the morning. Traffic restrictions for heavy vehicles are in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. The greatest traffic disruptions are expected on the A1 Milan-Naples motorway (particularly at the Napoli Nord exit), the A14 Adriatica motorway, and along connections to the Tyrrhenian coast.

Nighttime maintenance work continues on the A56 Naples ring road . Among the ongoing construction sites in the city: Via Raffaele De Cesare is closed until November 30th (redevelopment of the pedestrian and cycle path along the seafront), traffic control in Piazza Museo Nazionale is closed until December 10th for restoration work on the Galleria Principe di Napoli, and Via Adriano between Via Nerva and number 117 is closed until December 26th.

🚫 Strikes

No local public transport strikes in Naples today. Please note: Sunday, July 5th : national strike by flight attendants and airport handling staff (easyJet, Malpensa, Fiumicino). We also report: Italo NTV strike on July 9th- 10th , EAV automotive division strike on July 14th (4 hours, 9:00-13:00), and the national rail and public transport stoppage from July 23rd to 24th.
