Galleria Vittoria in Naples: no to reopening in spring

New lighting in the Vittoria Gallery in Naples

Other inconveniences due to the closure of the Vittoria Gallery in Naples because the release from seizure was rejected and the reopening is even further away.

As we read from La Repubblica online, the inconveniences caused by the closure of the Galleria Vittoria in Naples continue, which surely it will not be reopened by spring, according to what is read in the order pronounced by the Judge for preliminary investigations Enrico Campoli.

In practice, it was the technical report of the municipal administration was rejected, whose verifications have not reassured the investigating judge since a still present danger of collapse emerges. The checks made by the Municipality's technicians were partial and superficial and do not guarantee the absence of a danger because the ABC investigations are missing relating to a possible infiltration of water from the Monte di Dio village and the checks were made only in some areas of the paneling and not in the whole Gallery.

In this way it cannot be excluded that there may be a new collapse, therefore the release from seizure was not accepted.

This means that the times for reopening are lengthened, initially scheduled for spring 2021, the date on which the works should have finished, which will not be able to start before a new report on the more precise, in-depth and detailed technical verification by the Municipality is drawn up.

Failure to alternate traffic device

The councilor for traffic Marco Gaudini stated that it is impossible to foresee an alternative traffic device to make it easier for motorists and this will cause even more inconvenience now that schools are gradually reopening. For the moment, according to the commissioner, an even greater presence of the traffic police must be ensured.
