The Mayor of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, is enthusiastic in announcing a wonderful news, that is Villa Ferretti, a property confiscated from the Camorra, it becomes a center of high information and the new seat of the University of Naples Federico II, at least for the next twenty years.

Just yesterday, June 7, 2022, the agreement between the rector of the University was ratified Matteo Lorito and the first citizen of Bacoli, the municipality where the nineteenth-century residence is located.

The project

Villa Ferretti is a residence that has been removed from organized crime and thanks to the special agreement it will become the cultural center of archeology of the sea and digital humanities. The project will take shape immediately after the summer with studies, research, workshops, seminars and cultural events. They will be involved more the faculties of Humanities, Earth Sciences and Biology.

The structure is distributed over two floors in about 700 square meters and is located overlooking the sea of ​​Baia. Initially, it will host the Federico II Higher Education Center on Digital Humanities, then it will continue with various studies that will also be connected to the submerged remains of Baia.
