From September 24 to 27, 2026, Naples's waterfront will host the second Preliminary Regatta of the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup , in the sea off Via Caracciolo. It's the teams' last chance to finalize the details ahead of the 2027 challenge: surrounding the regattas, the free-entry Race Village will host daily shows, music, and celebrations open to the city.

The Race Village on the Seafront

The Official Race Village will be set up on Lungomare Francesco Caracciolo , between Rotonda Diaz and Viale Dohrn , with free admission upon registration following the instructions provided by the organizers. The area opens to the public every day at 11:00 a.m. for all four days of the event.

Closing times vary daily: Thursday 24th and Friday 25th September at 21pm , Saturday 26th at 20:30pm and Sunday 27th at 22pm . Inside there is the Food Court with a wide range of food options, the official merchandise shop in the team colors and the sponsor stands, also present on Mappatella beach.

The main stage and the shows

The main stage at Rotonda Diaz is the heart of the village. On Thursday, September 24th , during Official Practice Day, all the teams will be introduced to the public on stage at 6:30 PM , upon their return from the water. From September 25th to 27th, daily dock-out and dock-in shows will take place at 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM , bringing the public closer to the sailors and experiencing the moments before and after the races.

After the team presentations and docking shows, the stage hosts local musical performances . Sunday, September 27th is the awards ceremony, with trophies being awarded to the event winners and the winners of the Women & Youth classification.

The scheduled regattas

The races begin every day at 2:00 PM in the stretch of water between Castel dell'Ovo and Posillipo. Three fleet races are scheduled for Friday, September 25th, and Saturday, September 26th ; two more will take place on Sunday, the 27th , for a total of eight races.

The results are calculated using the high-point scoring system : 10 points for the winner of each race. At the end of the eight races, the top two boats in the standings advance to the match race final , a one-on-one duel that decides the event's victory.

Teams and observation points

Six teams will start with nine AC40 boats: Emirates Team New Zealand (defender), GB1 (Challenger of Record), Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli , Tudor Team Alinghi , La Roche-Posay Racing Team and American Racing Challenger.

To follow the catamarans up close, the Lungomare has two platforms on the cliff , a raised corridor along the coast, and a large floating platform in the sea , connected to the mainland. The observation points extend from Via Partenope to Piazza della Repubblica. Giant screens broadcast the races live, and with America's Cup Radio, you can listen to the race without delay directly in your headphones.

How traffic is changing

For the event, the City of Naples has prepared a dedicated traffic plan, with the stretch of Via Caracciolo through which the village is located closed to traffic. Details on one-way streets, restrictions, and the suspension of cycle paths, in effect from September 7 to October 5, 2026 , are provided in the detailed traffic plan for the Lungomare . The traffic plan has already led to the removal of the first kiosk.
