Visit to Palazzo Donn'Anna

A journey to discover the Palazzo Donn'Anna in Via Posillipo, through images, legends and glimpses, the history of the historic building that remained unfinished will be reconstructed

Il 13 December 2017 a unique event will guide the members of Medea to discover one of the most evocative and fascinating places in the city of Naples, Palazzo Donn'Anna.

It is a construction by Cosimo Fanzago from 1630 and takes its name from Anna Carafa consort of the Viceroy Duke of Medina de las Torres. The palace was never completed due to the death of Donn'Anna and the revolt of Masaniello which led to the flight of the viceroy. The palace which is located between the remains of the Roman villas and the caves of Posillipo over time it has acquired a suggestive charm because of its incompleteness and the legends it has inspired, becoming a symbol of Naples.

Currently it is used for private use and the houses can not be visited, so the itinerary includes a visit from the courtyards to the Palazzo theater, home of the De Felice Foundation where the history of the building will be reconstructed through images, stories, passages between the tufa walls, with unique and exclusive views and glimpses. The appointment is at 15:45 a Largo Donn'Anna Via Posillipo. Booking is required to participate as there is a limited number of participants equal to 50.
