Panorama of Naples from the roof of the Duomo

With the opening of the roof of the Cathedral of Naples you can admire the city from above with a wonderful 360 degree view!

After years of renovations and anticipations, finally the roof of the Cathedral of Naples will reopen to the public allowing citizens and tourists to enjoy one magnificent view of the city walking on top of the Basilica more important than Naples. The walk will be inaugurated at Christmas and it will take you on the roof of the city to 50 meters high.

The works were possible thanks to the EU funds allocated for the renovation of the historic center of Naples and will allow you to admire a beautiful panorma at 360 ° that will wind from the hill of the Camaldoli to that of Vomero, showing you also the Palace of Capodimonte, the many alleys, the castles, the islands of Ischia e Capri, Vesuvio and many other beauties of Naples.

You will have to wait for the end of the final touches that concern the completion of the flooring and safety railings, in addition to the installation of maps that will allow the public to understand what is being observed by describing the details. In practice, almost everything is ready and during these last days of summer and until December, yes they will carry out the tests and the path will be open at Christmas by the Curia and the Municipality of Naples. It will be accessed thanks to alift and the path will be both inside and outside.

The project has been financed for 100 million euros from the EU and is part of the 27 lots of the great Centro Storico project which also allowed the restoration of the side nave, the Malvito and Tesoro Vecchio chapels (where the remains of San Gennaro were) and the Succorpo.

It will certainly be one magnificent aerial walk, the only one that can be done in the ancient center of Naples.
