His youth career began in 2004 in Rabonitnicki, team from the capital of North Macedonia. In 2008 he moved to the youth academy Red Star.
The debut in the Macedonian top flight takes place in 2015 in the ranks of Rabotnicki. Here he collects 44 league appearances and 7 goals.
In 2017 he moved to the Turks of Fenerbahce, but due to bureaucratic problems he made his debut in the Turkish top flight only six months later. With Fenerbahce he collects 34 appearances and 4 goals in two years.
The transition to Napoli takes place in July 2019. The Neapolitan team buys Elmas' services for 16 million euros plus bonuses.
