On the occasion of International women's rights day, a celebration that falls every year on March 8, the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, proposed a really interesting initiative concerning museums and places of culture.
In fact, on Wednesday 8 March 2023, for all women, entry in museums, archaeological parks, monumental complexes, castles, villas, gardens, and others state places of culture it absolutely will free.
In short, a very special initiative, which will allow women, in the festival dedicated to them, to visit some of the gods most beautiful places in Naples and Campania, learn about stories and curiosities, and much more.
Cultural places to visit for free
The list of places of appointments in Campania is constantly updated. We report the activities that are indicated on the official website of the Ministry of Culture.
Ercolano Archaeological Park
- On March 8, 2023, the Herculaneum Archaeological Park will be open free of charge to women. The site can be accessed from 08:30 to 17:00, with last entry at 15:30.
Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia
The Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia organizes the event Stories of women. Thematic itineraries for everyone in Paestum and Velia. Admission will be free for all women from 08:30 to 19:30.
Archaeological Park of Paestum
- 10:00 educational visit "The daughters of Hera: the other half of the history of Paestum" by the director Tiziana D'Angelo
- 16:00 guided tour "The women of Paestum between myth and reality" by Le Nuvole
Velia Archaeological Park
- 10:00 educational visit "Discovering the women of Velia" by the archaeologist Francesco Uliano Scelza.
- 11:00 workshops on nature and creative recycling organized by Cooperativa Sociale Effetto Rete.
