Picasso's refined canvas temporarily takes the place of the “Martyrdom of Saint Ursula” at Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano.

From June 17 to September 11, 2016 you will be able to admire the masterpiece of Picasso "The Harlequin with the mirror“, Loaned to the gallery of Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid in exchange for Caravaggio's "Martirio di Sant'Orsola".

The work of art, which belongs to the series of "Seated Harlequins" made in 1923, is one of the artist's most appreciated works and recalls the previous blue and pink periods in which circus artists and the masks of Harlequin and Pierrot. In the Harlequin's canvas, in reality only the hat recalls the famous mask, while his suit recalls that of the circus trapeze artists and the melancholy face, without a mask on the face, recalls that of a Pierrot.

Simultaneously with the Naples exhibition, from 21 June to 18 September, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum will host the painting "The Martyrdom of Sant'Orsola", Last canvas made by Caravaggio, a few months before his death, usually exhibited in Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano and owned by the Intesa San Paolo.
