Il April 23 2024 a very particular agreement was signed between Fabrizia Paternò of San Nicola, Superintendent of Pio Monte della Misericordia and Francesca Ummarino, Director of the Treasure Museum of San Gennaro.
Specifically, it will be a collaboration and therefore purchasing a single entrance ticket you can visit both the Pio Monte della Misericordia the Treasure of San Gennaro. Obviously, this integrated ticket can be purchased at a truly advantageous price and you will therefore be able to save on purchasing tickets individually.
You can purchase tickets directly on site, at the ticket offices of the two museums or even online on the website.
The Pio Monte della Misericordia
Il Pio Monte della Misericordia it is a monumental building founded in 1602 by seven young Neapolitan nobles. The building houses a wonderful seventeenth-century church which contains wonderful masterpieces. Among these we find the canvas of Seven Works of Mercy by Caravaggio, one of the most important works of eighteenth-century painting. Along with this, there are many other works belonging to painters of the Neapolitan school.
The building is open to the public from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 and on Sunday from 09:00 to 14:30.
The Treasure of San Gennaro
The Treasure Museum of San Gennaro it hosts within it a priceless heritage of objects that were donated as a sign of devotion by Neapolitan and foreign sovereigns, as well as by the people to San Gennaro, patron saint of the city of Naples.
Inside the treasure there are objects in gold, silver, bronze and precious stones, but also statues, busts, fine fabrics and paintings of great value. Until May 14th you can also visit the exhibition Three collars, the jewels of devotion edited by Laura Giusti.
The museum is open to the public every day from 09 to 30.
