Disguises, typical products and street artists will be the protagonists of the unmissable Limatola Carnival!
It reaches the 27th edition the Carnival of Limatola, which for this year's appointment includes three days of celebrations: 31 January, 7 and 9 February 2016.
The event will start at 11.00 in Piazza San Biagio involving adults and children. Among the novelties of this edition there is one dedicated space for the little ones, where guests can have fun with games and juggling shows. Between music and dance, in full carnival spirit, you can celebrate with wine and typical products of Samnite food and wine and street artists will also perform, while the masks will parade.
The Limatola Carnival has an ancient history, and for this reason the pro loco of the town wanted to give great space to tradition: folk songs, folkloric dances and accordions in fact they will liven up the party. In particular, the highly anticipated wagon of "A battuglia nova", The Limatolese group of barrack players which is inspired by the tradition of the "battles of pasteless" of Macerata Campania and Portico di Caserta.
The fulcrum of the event will be the competition in the mask, with free registration, which can be entered both as a group and individually, and the winner of which will be announced on the last day.
On the other hand, the funeral lament and thecarnival fire. They will also be organized visits to the castle, but only for groups.
Masked competition
The parades will be held on January 31, February 7-9. and theregistration is free. The masked competition is divided into two categories: single mask e masked group.
As for the masked group, it must be composed of at least 5 units. In order to participate you must have aminimum age of 15 years. During the three days of the event, the participants in the competition will parade in Piazza San Biagio and on the last day the winners will be announced, one for each category.
Competitors are required to parade on a musical base by their choice which can be both live and recorded. Participants will be evaluated based on:
- the originality of the theme presented
- best costume (the creative commitment, the visual aspect and the attention to detail will be evaluated)
- the ability to engage viewers
The judgment will be expressed by a jury of experts and a popular jury. The jury will be composed of the Facebook community that simply will choose the mask that you prefer.
The masks will be published on the Facebook page "Pro Loco Limatola", so with a simple "like" everyone can express their preference. The photo that will reach the highest number of "likes" will have a bonus that will add up to the votes given by the jury of experts.
