How to cancel the telepass, where to take it and how to cancel

We are faced with a important change regarding our use of the device Telepass Family, starting from 1 July 2024 the rate will be increased to €3,9 per month. Luckily there are many alternatives, but let's remember that we have the option to terminate the contract without financial charges only if the cancellation is communicated by June 30 2024.

In this guide, we will explain it to you clearly how to exercise your right of withdrawal, step by step, making sure you handle everything in the best way simple and fast as possible so you can change supplier to a cheaper one.

How to withdraw from the telepass contract

To withdraw from your contract Telepass Family or by option Twin/Telepass Twin, you have different modes available.
We remind you that with the words "Telepass Family” indicates the telepass payment service via the device you have in your car, that commonly called just “Telepass”. So don't worry, even if there is the word "family" it is not a family device, but of the classic telepass.

Here's how you can proceed:

1. Email: You can send a written communication to the address managementcontract@telepass.com.
2. Certified Electronic Mail (PEC): For formal and certified communication, use the address assistance@pec.telepass.com.
3. Postal Service: If you prefer, you can send your cancellation via traditional mail to the address: TELEPASS SpA – Customer Care, Via del Serafico 49 – 00142 ROME.
4. Authorized sales points: Go personally to one of the Telepass Stores or the service centers of the motorway operators that are still operational. You can find the list on the Telepass website, but check that the center is enabled to receive the telepass by clicking on it. Not everyone is!
5. Telefonica: By calling the toll-free number 800.904.940, following the instructions provided by the call center.

In every communication, Don't forget to include your details, specify the reason for the withdrawal by explicitly indicating that is linked to the "Proposal for unilateral modification of the contract" in such a way as not to incur further costs and to clearly indicate whether the withdrawal concerns the entire Telepass Family contract or only the Twin/Telepass Twin option.

Obviously, if you only have one Telepass for your vehicle, you simply need to request withdrawal from the Telepass Family.

CHow and where to return the Telepass device

Once the right of withdrawal has been exercised, it is necessary return the Telepass device within an extended period of 6 months from the date of termination of the contract. Here are the options available for returns:

1. Direct delivery: You can bring the device to one of the Telepass Stores (but check that the center is enabled to receive the telepass), to the service centers of motorway operators or other authorized sales points. The updated list is available on the Telepass website and app.
2. Shipping: If you prefer, you can send the device via registered mail to the address: TELEPASS SpA – Customer Care, Via del Serafico 49 – 00142 ROME. It is important to remember that until its actual delivery, the risk of loss or damage remains with you.

In case of failure to return within 6 months, Telepass may charge a penalty of 25,82 € for each device not correctly returned.
