Comic(On)Off 2023: events throughout the city of Naples until June 30th

Il Comicon closed the doors of the 2023 edition scoring another great success, but the events for fans of the genre don't end there. Until the 30 June 2023, Naples becomes the center of international attention in the world of comics and pop culture thanks to the program of COMIC(ON)OFF. Approximately are expected this year 20 events between exhibitions, screenings and performances, with the participation of cartoonists, writers, illustrators, actors and musicians.

The prelude to the COMICON International Festival

COMIC(ON)OFF is l'antipasto cultural of the weeks preceding and following the prestigious COMICON, the International Festival of Pop Culture scheduled at Mostra d'Oltremare from 28 April to 1 May. The events will take place in the most different cultural spaces of the city, such as the Goethe-Institut, the State Archives, the Institut Français and the Instituto Cervantes.

LUIS QUILES. The antisocial 

  • April 5 - May 4

Personal exhibition at Design Sulmondo. A dive into the author's career, between his illustrations and his pungent work of denunciation of "social degeneration". The author meets the public for a guided tour of the gallery on 3 May at 18.00 and, subsequently, for a meeting at the Instituto Cervantes.

ORIANE LASSUS – Outside the Circuit

Personal exhibition of the French author, which traces her career between independent comics, magazines and volumes for children. "The guardians of the attic", published in Italy by Diabolo Edizioni, won the prize of the European School of Image. Meeting with the author on May 2nd at 19.30pm.

REINHARD KLEIST – My muses, my music

  • 27 April – 16 June

  • Goethe-Institut Naples

Exhibition of original plates by the German artist Reinhard Kleist, dedicated to his works on musicians, including his recent graphic novel "Starman", which pays homage to David Bowie. The author will meet the public on the opening day at 11.30.

THE STORIES OF PIZZOFALCONE – From noble palace to State Archive

The history of the headquarters of the Pizzofalcone State Archive, in a singular interpretation: through what has been depicted from within its walls and through its own representation, from topography to comics. 

BLASCO PISAPIA – Tressette with the mouse

RETURN TO WORK

Presentation of the homonymous volume by Luca De Lorenzo, Giovanni Chianelli, Michela De Cecio, published by Edizioni San Carlo. Speakers include the authors, Emanuela Spedaliere, director of the Teatro di San Carlo, Dinko Fabris, scientific director of publishing at the Teatro di San Carlo, Mario Punzo, director of the Italian School of Comix, Stefano Gargiulo, artistic director of Kaos Produzioni.

Speakers with the authors Alessio d'Uva, founder of Kleiner Flug, Francesca Ummarino, director of the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro and the Deputation of the Royal Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro.
