In Praiano you can breathe music in the open air: the “Sounds of the Gods” event offers free concerts on the spectacular Path of the Gods!
Between May and October 2016 the Amalfi Coast becomes the scene of a special event, "The Sounds of the Gods". The project, as the name implies, foresees a series of free concerts on the Path of the Gods.
In the frame of this unique itinerary in the world, notes of classical and contemporary music will merge with the breathtaking landscape. Italian and foreign artists will perform in the various outdoor events offered by the Municipality of Praiano and the Pélagos Association.
Places where the concerts will be held are the "Li Cannati" path, the "Colle Serra" path and Convent of Santa Maria a Castro or San Domenico, an ancient church that dominates the landscape that stretches from Positano to Capri and houses a fifteenth-century painting, the "Madonna delle Grazie".
Each performance will be preceded by an excursion walk from Praiano, Agerola and Positano to reach the Sentiero degli Dei. The paths, located about 500 meters from the sea level, are made up of paths and stairways of medium difficulty, while the duration varies between one and a half and three hours.
How to equip yourself
To better enjoy the initiative, we recommend that you:
- wear comfortable clothing suitable for the temperatures of the season
- wear trekking shoes
- bring something to eat with you and plenty of water
